“Despair and Repentance”

With his spear on his shoulder he watches his pregnant wife climbing up the steep hill with a basket of sweet potatoes. She slips and the basket rolls down the hill where she can gather it again. Meanwhile her husband gets upset that she is not doing better. The missionary living in their community is very surprised to see this lazy manner of the men. Amazingly through God’s message this man’s life is completely being changed. But then their oldest son does one foolish deed after another so that in the end the mother dies of a beating that should have been given to him. She saves his life so that he would have another chance.
